Swim with the dolphins
SPEND TIME WITH THE DOLPHINS
The dolphin – a captivating and inspirational animal. Curious and sociable, this creature is simply fascinating.
To see them is a gift; to swim with them, a dream. And we can make your dream a reality!
Observing them in their natural environment, against the backdrop of Morne Mountain, a UNESCO
Cultural Landscape and World Heritage Site, the soul of your inner child is sure to marvel.
CLIMB ABOARD! PARADISE IS HERE
The landscape unfolds before your eyes – a coastal patchwork of blues and greens, you’re between sky and sea. Enjoy a coffee
and pastry – let yourself go. We change course towards the dolphins. While the sea is still calm, you can swim
alongside them safely, enjoying the magic of the moment. Swimming with these mammals
in their natural environment provides an experience of majestic unity.
The dolphin swim excursion at Mauritius Island allows you to encounter two species observed in the region:
the long-beaked dolphin and the bottlenose dolphin. The long-beaked dolphin lives in groups of 10 to 100 and
can only be seen in the morning when playing or relaxing in the lagoons. It then goes hunting for food on
the high seas. The bottlenose dolphin is the most well-known (remember Flipper?!)
and least shy. It lives in a small group and is easily approachable.
Depending on seasonal conditions, you may also be able to see the whales! There are two types:
sperm whales and humpback whales. Sperm whales reside offshore year-round. They can grow up to 18 meters and
have a lifespan of 60 to 70 years. Humpback whales approach our shores only three months of the year. In July, the females
come to give birth, while August and September mark the breeding season. Humpback whales
measure up to 15 meters long and have a lifespan of at least 50 years.
We then travel towards Crystal Rock, a chiseled rock that appears to rest on the turquoise sea. A perfect occasion to swim,
snorkel and observe the fish in waters of absolute clarity. A picture perfect moment fit for a postcard !
Then we’ll take the time to drink a toast to this abundant nature to which we belong. After
this tropical aperitif, we come ashore for lunch – a welcome break to reflect
and recover from the emotions of the morning.
In the afternoon, we head towards Paradise Lagoon. We are near the Morne, the rocky mountain emblematic of Mauritius.
Its overwhelming beauty contrasts with a somewhat less joyful history. Dazzling flora and fauna, transparent
waters, colorful fish – an abundant and exquisite display presented to you. Snorkeling, lounging – relax
as you please. And if you’d like to fish – just ask!
